In 2000 Jon Middleton and Eric Rappaport were two chefs working for a restaurant development company in a tiny kitchen in Southeastern Pennsylvania. They tested recipes and menu concepts. Nothing takes the romance out of food better than "testing" it. Because they both felt such passion for food, and always loved the "fun" of food, they would pass the time by dreaming up food commercials, coming up with food jokes, and quizzing and challenging each other about anything to do with food.
One day one of their assistants remarked "you two nuts need to make a game out of this" and she started keeping score on the kitchen blackboard. Much fun was had by all.
Shortly after, Jon left the company and went out on his own. But the game idea was "stuck" in his brain and he soon found himself working on ways that he could bring it to life. He worked late at night, in secret, hoping to avoid those who in the past had just smiled, patted him on the head and commented "another wacky idea- huh Jon"?
Well Jon had one friend who was at least equally as wacky, so late in 2004 he called his old pal Eric and showed him what he had done so far. Eric smiled, patted him on the head and said "I'm with-ya man"!
They quickly assembled a team and went to work. We3Chefs.com™ was formed in 2005 and the first of their wacky food games The Original Food Lover's Trivia™ became available for public consumption in November of that year.
